At Independent K-9, we are pleased to offer owners two opportunities to work on your dog’s social skills as well as offer them activities to exercise and stay occupied during the day while you are at work, school, or just out running errands! We offer Wednesday Socialization (held on Wednesdays only) and Daycare is offered 7 days a week. You may ask, what’s the difference? During Wednesday Social, our play groups are very structured and always carefully supervised by our staff to ensure all dogs are playing appropriately, having fun, and not practicing bad behaviors. For dogs that struggle with reactivity or aggression or dogs that are shy, fearful, or need lots of positive exposure to build confidence we find that our Wednesday Social program is of great benefit for these dogs in working on overcoming these behaviors. Dogs that are working through behavioral issues such as reactivity are handled by our trainers to ensure the dog learns to socialize properly without worsening their reactivity. Wednesday Social is designed to be a big, fun puppy play day – but with structure so it doesn’t turn into a free-for-all. You can drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the evening.
